A Family Affair...

The Ilsington Hotel has been family run for more than 12 years when the property was bought back in 1998 by the Hassell family.

Tim and Richard Hassell run the hotel together with their wives Maura and Jo, with additional help from a few little ones. They have since built up a fantastic reputation for being one of the best hotels in South Devon –the hotel received a Silver Award for Small Hotel of the Year by the South West Tourism Excellence Awards and the hotel’s award-winning restaurant has maintained a very high standard, retaining its 2 AA rosettes for more than 6 years.

Through the years and four generations, the Hassell family has welcomed thousands of guests, organised hundreds of Christmas parties and countless weddings and hope that the future is just as successful!

Latest projects have included the succesful 'Blue Tiger Inn' which has added a secondary eating area to the hotel, total refurbishment of 4 deluxe bedrooms and bathrooms (with more in the pipeline) and new reception area and lounge which opened in March 2012. This new lounge with bespoke Axminster carpet, Farrow and Ball paintwork and double sided wood burner has enhanced the overall comfort of our public areas. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the bar and is an ideal area for a snooze or catch up of the paper.
