Visit Devon Hotel of the year 2011/12 - Silver Award

Of this year's entrants the judges have said that: "The judging took account of your entry form, along with a combination of web searches, emails, telephone calls and/or visits, tastings, plus any available additional evidence.  For the winners, the panel was looking for all elements of your business to be excellent, with some of them outstanding.  To be amongst the winners, given the level of competition, is therefore a very significant achievement indeed."

South West Tourism Excellence Awards-Small Hotel of the Year, finalist 2009/10
The Ilsington Hotel won Silver for Small Hotel of the Year category by the South West Tourism Excellence Awards. Judges commented “With strengths in all departments and superb leisure facilities, it offers a solid traditional and very comfortable experience. This hotel will go from strength to strength.”

3 AA Stars with a quality score of 86% (2012)
The Ilsington is pleased to have been awarded 3 stars by the AA with a quality percentage score of 86%. This puts the hotel amongst one of the highest rated 3-star hotels in Devon and Cornwall. The inspector commented:"A very enjoyable stay made memorable by the friendliness of the staff and food at dinner."

2 AA Rosettes
The Ilsington prides itself in its 2 AA rosette restaurant. Head Chef Mike O’Donnell has achieved and retained the rosettes for a commendable 8 years.

The Good Hotel Guide 2012/2013
The Ilsington Hotel is featured in the Good Hotel Guide and was nominated by a long-time guide reader for its ‘friendly staff, comfortable rooms and superb food’. The Good Hotel Guide is one of the few remaining guides whose entries are based entirely on guests' feedback and mystery visits - there is no fee to be in the Guide and you are only included by invitation.

For 2011 we have been awarded a certificate of excellence for our consistently high scores from guests. We currently have a ranking of 4 and a half points out of 5 and are one of the top three hotels in Dartmoor. This is what the guest really thinks about us!
