Trenchford Reservoir

Fly Fishing

The River Exe
Best known for its salmon fishing and most of the river is only available to salmon fishermen; however, some parts of the river are accessible. For more information visit www.colinpapeflyfishing.co.uk

River Dart
The Dart Angling Association lease about 9 miles of the bank fishing for brown trout, sea trout and salmon on the River Dart just below Totnes Weir pool upstream. In the centre of the river, off Dittisham, is a large sandbank known as Flat Owers which is a local cockle bank. Fishing permits for the River Dart are available from the hotel. River Teign
The Upper Teign Fishing Association has the rights to fish on many miles of the upper reaches of the River Teign. This is a noted game fishing river in the South West. Sea trout fishing is best in spring and summer and fly fishing for wild brown trout can be enjoyed at anytime in the season. For more information visit www.upper-teign-fishing.org.uk

Hard Fly Fishing
The River Exe is an excellent venue for the intermediate to advanced fly fisher. Set in a secluded Exmoor Valley, this venue provides a range of opportunities for the experimental angler, including dries, upstream and rolled nymphs. For more information visit www.hartflyfishing.demon.co.uk

Fly Fishing Devon
The extensive fishing on the River Teign controlled by the Upper Teign Fishing Association offers the novice and experienced angler the opportunity to catch wild brown trout within the Dartmoor National Park. For more information visit www.flyfishingdevon.co.uk

Brown Trout
Crediton Fly Fishing Club is a small-stream ‘fly only’ fishing club based in Crediton, in between Dartmoor and Exmoor. It covers three rivers (Creedy, Yeo and Culvery) which all have abundant fly life including a Mayfly hatch which provides superb opportunities to fish for wild brown trout throughout most of the season. Venford Reservoir

Rainbow Trout
Kennick Reservoir is managed by the South West Lakes Trust and surrounded by beautiful farmland and forest on Dartmoor. It is a top-rated premier rainbow trout fishery and is frequently stocked with rainbow trout up to 8lb. For more information visit www.kennickflyfishers.co.uk

Sea Trout
The River Taw rises high on Dartmoor, meandering through mid Devon countryside eventually reaching the Taw Estuary at Barnstaple. It is one of the most popular sea trout and salmon rivers known to anglers all over the world. For more information visit www.colinpapeflyfishing.co.uk

Salmon
The River Dart is one of the most damous salmon rivers in the South West Peninsular. There are salmon moving up the Dart for breeding throughout the year. The older and consequently larger fish tend to come in the spring run. For more information visit www.dartaa.org.uk or www.dittisham.org.uk

Sea Fishing

Fishing is available all along the Devon Coast with Teignmouth only 15 to 20 minutes drive away, and nearby Torbay, Dartmouth and Salcombe.

Brixham Breakwater

Dart Estuary
Is the largest locally and is fed with large volumes of fresh water from Dartmoor. Upper areas produce good flounder. Lower areas produce cole, whiting, pollack and codling. For more information visit www.devonseafishing.com
