Coronavirus Statement

11th June 2020

We want you to be reassured about the steps we are taking to ensure staff and guest safety whilst still offering our usual great service during your break. These are just some of the steps we will be taking when the hotel re-opens for business:

Coronavirus symptoms  - All staff will be temperature checked before shift and anyone with symptoms or someone in their household who has symptoms will self-isolate in line with PHE guidelines. Similarly, we would ask all guests to delay their travel plans if showing symptoms and should they become unwell during their stay to act according to the latest Government guidelines at the time. The security and protection of our staff and other guests is paramount.

Social DistancingFortunately at Ilsington we have plenty of space, both inside and out. There will be signage and measures in place to facilitate this, with seating in lounges and dining areas suitably spaced.

Enhanced CleaningAll public areas and washrooms will be cleaned more regularly, with particular attention to 'touch points' such as door handles and light switches.

Disinfection StationsStations will be provided throughout the hotel for guests and members of staff.

Staff Protective Equipment - You may see some staff wearing enhanced protective equipment where necessary. Much of this will be behind the scenes in areas such as the kitchen and housekeeping. We will do as much as necessary and required avoiding too much of a clinical environment.

ReceptionOn check-in and check-out we would ask that guests are patient and observe distancing should there be other guests waiting. Keys will be sanitised and handed to you in a plastic cover. We would ask that you keep your key with you at all times.

Guests will be asked to USE CARD PAYMENTS ONLY-  card machines will be wiped down with a disinfectant wipe after each guest use.

Bedrooms - have enhanced cleaning of high touch point areas, including handles, switches, remote controls, and high contact furniture. Cleaning is already conducted to a high standard within the rooms. We have a fogging machine for enhanced disinfecting which will be used in the rooms and public areas.

BEDROOM ENTRY RESTRICTED

No access will be made to the bedroom during a guest stay. Staff will only enter the bedroom on the guest's request, to re service the bedroom or fix a reported maintenance issue. If a member of staff is requested to enter a bedroom whilst the room is occupied the team member will be wearing PPE and the guest will be asked to leave the room so social distancing can be maintained

CANCELLATION

We have reduced our cancellation period to 48 hours before arrival. Additionally, should you cancel within this time we will move your booking to a future stay at no cost to you. All bookings must be made directly with the hotel to enjoy these special terms.

DINING

In order to facilitate distancing and to concentrate service in one area, breakfast and dinner will be served exclusively in the main Restaurant.

Breakfast will need to be pre-ordered the night before as buffet service is not allowed.

Dinner, served 6pm to 9pm, will take the form of an a la carte menu with a range of both bar food and restaurant style dishes to suit most tastes. This will be served in the main Restaurant and adjoining Hound Tor Suite only. This enables us to have widely spaced tables in a beautiful, airy room with the stunning views up to Haytor Rocks.

Daytime dining will be served from 12pm to 5pm in the bar, lounges, terrace or garden. This menu will provide lighter snacks and dishes along with some more substantial meals. We can happily provide you with menus prior to your visit.

SPA

The Spa may not be able to open at the same time as the hotel due to Government guidelines. As soon as it is safe to do so we will open up the facilities. Numbers will be restricted with possible booking times at busy periods, changing rooms will be closed (robes are provided in the bedrooms) and distancing will be in place.

Treatments -  We are hoping to be able to carry out treatments on opening with strict guidelines in place. All of our therapists have carried out Covid-19 training during closure and have relevant certification to endorse this. They will be happy to discuss your requirements during your stay.

We appreciate your time in reading this statement and look forward to welcoming guests to Ilsington from 16th July.

Kind regards
